Communication Situation

Of all the situations that can occur from bad communication, most of them are either bad or very bad. In the following space I will write one Indian fiction story about a big secret revealed and turned into a rumor which then turned into an international news!

There was once a king who was tragically born with donkey ears. He had kept it a secret for a long time and he was doing a good job until one day he was going to take a bath and when he was taking off his hat, a courtier was walking by and then he caught a glimpse of the king. He stood there gaping in shock. The courtier tried to sneak away in case the king would execute him so he wouldn't spread the shocking news. But the thing was that the king just saw him creeping along the hallway and then, to the courtier's relief the king was kind at heart and he didn't do anything vile. He just warned the courtier not to tell anyone about it. The courtier went along happily. That night when the courtier was in bed he was tossing and turning and he disturbed his wife. She woke up and asked the courtier if there was anything wrong. The courtier replied by saying that the king told him some disturbing news and he was not supposed to tell anyone. The wife strongly replied that he could trust her in the hope that he would tell her. It took her a while but the courtier finally cracked. He told her the news. The wife was shocked at this sudden announcement. The next day when she was at work, her colleague asked her why she looked so depressed. The wife said, " My husband has told me some news and that I cannot tell anyone." The colleague was very interested in knowing what the courtier had told his wife. She used the same method to hear it as the wife used to get the news from the courtier. Finally the wife spilled the news to the colleague and as the wife expected, the colleague was very surprised and shocked. Later that day the colleague was looking depressed. Suddenly the maid servant was walking by while doing her daily duties and she chanced on seeing the colleague looking very depressed. The maid asked her why she looked so down. The colleague answered the same way the courtier and the wife answered the question. She said, "My colleague said some news that I'm not allowed to spread and I'd rather not let down my friend. After some time the maid too got the news out of the colleague. When the maid went home she just had to tell someone or she would crack. She told her husband who was a woodcutter. Then the woodcutter thought to himself that he couldn't tell anyone but he just had to he told the trees. Later that day the woodcutter had to carve out a drum for a festival. The next day at the festival in the drumbeating part the drummer started hitting the drum slowly and it did this: ra-ja ka-dhu kar-dhe ka-dhu ('The King's ears are donkey's ears' in Tamil). The secret was revealed to the whole country and the king had to flee from the country to save himself from all the rebelling people and to save himself from embarrassment and that was the end.
